Manish Malhotra remembers his father with emotional post, celebrities express condolences

Manish Malhotra remembered his father with an emotional post after he passed away on Monday. The veteran fashion designer shared a photograph of his father on his Instagram handle and expressed his love. Several stars from the film industry conveyed their condolences to Manish Malhotra and respects to Malhotra Sr on the post.

Anushka Sharma, Smriti Irani, Hina Khan, Chitrangda Singh, Sonali Bendre Behl, Neetu Kapoor, Diana Penty, Anushula Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurrana, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Ayesha Shroff, Badshah, Guahar Khan, Aayush Sharma, Shamita Shetty, Bhavana Pandey were among those who reacted to Manish Malhotra’s post. Most of them posted the heart or folding hands emojis. They conveyed their deepest sympathies, prayers and condolences.

Manish Malhotra’s father passed away in Mumbai on Monday. He was said to be in his 90s and died to illness. As soon as the news surfaced, Bollywood stars were spotted arriving at his residence and paying their respects and condolences. The last rites were held on the same day. Urmila Matondkar, Boney Kapoor were the stars who were present at the funeral. His close friend Karan Johar and Shabana Azmi were also spotted arriving to meet Manish Malhotra. Manish Malhotra’s nephew, Punit Malhotra, the director of films like I Hate Luv Storys, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein and Student of the Year 2, was among the people who took his mortal remains to the crematorium.

Later in the day, several stars paid a visit to the designer at his residence in Bandra. Most of the actors who have been wearing his outfits for decades, like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karisma Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan were seen. Jaya Bachchan was also snapped at the venue. 

Manish Malhotra is arguably the most popular designer in  Bollywood. He had started in the industry in the early ‘90s. He has designed the costumes for stars in many popular films. The 52-year-old, apart from his work as a designer, is also a close friend of many of the stars in B-Town.He is often known to throw parties at his home, that bring the best of Bollywood together under one roof. His fashion shows, that are held in India and abroad, usually have the biggest stars coming on board as a showstopper.
