Bollywood actor Rani Mukerji reprises the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy in her upcoming movie Mardaani 2. Recently, the second sequel of the Mardaani franchise got released and took the internet by storm. The tough and unstoppable cop is back to catch the criminals once again.

About the trailer of Mardaani 2

The trailer begins by showcasing the data by NCRB, which expounded how more than two thousand rape crimes are committed by teenage or juvenile boys every year in India. Presenting the number, the narrator informs the audience those were only the registered cases. Set in the city of Rajasthan, Kota, the Mardaani 2 trailer features a brutal assault on a young girl who is killed after being raped and tortured. Shifting between the crime scenes, the trailer shows scenes inside the testing lab and police station until Shivani can be heard saying that she will catch the ‘monster’ in a press conference.

Unaware of the dirty tricks by rapists to which Shivani Roy falls prey to, she gets blackmailed by those monsters. Rani Mukerji cancels every leave of the policemen to track down the rapists in two days. The trailer of this chilling sequel says, “she won’t stop” this time. Helmed by Gopi Puthran, Mardaani 2 is slated to release on December 13, 2019.

About the first Mardaani

The first sequel was directed by Pradeep Sarkar and revolved around human trafficking. Mardaani is an action thriller film that focused around a teenage girl Pyaari who was kidnapped. While resolving the case, Rani Mukerji uncovers the secrets of child trafficking by a mafia.

The actor plays a dedicated IPS officer Shivani, who chases Delhi-based Karan Rastogi. Karan runs a crime organisation involving drugs and child trafficking. Her determination to catch him leads to a series of painful incidents such as he gets her husband beaten once and Karan sends Pyaari’s finer wrapped in a gift box. Ultimately, Shivani tracks him down in Delhi, and while she is abducted Shivani succeeds in handing over Karan to the girls who mercilessly beat him to death.
