Rani Mukerji’s crime, action drama Mardaani 2 is making headlines after the trailer of the much-awaited movie was released online. The trailer was released on Twitter by the official social media handle of Yash Raj Films. The movie revolves around the sensitive topic of a series of rape on women. The fact that the movie is based on true events has been highlighted in the trailer itself.
Gully Boy actor Siddharth Chaturvedi commented a positive review on the trailer of the movie. Many trade analysts have shared the trailer on their social media accounts and have given positive feedbacks. The trade analysts have also commented on how Rani Mukerji looks fierce in the trailer. Celebrities react to the trailer
The trailer features the dramatic manhunt carried out by Rani Mukerji’s character Shivani Shivaji Rao, which was also a part of the first Mardaani movie. While Mardaani dealt with the issue of human trafficking, Mardaani 2 deals with the issue of rape on young girls. The trailer is filled with chilling visuals and impactful dialogues. The trailer reveals that the movie is set in Kota, Rajasthan.
In an interview the director of the movie, Gopi Puthran had revealed that Rani’s character will be seen logging heads with a 21-year-old criminal who is the embodiment of evil. He also said that the villain is a criminal who targets women. Mardaani 2 is produced by Aditya Chopra under the Yash Raj Films banner and is directed as well as written by Gopi Puthran. Apart from Rani, the movie also stars Rajesh Sharma, Shruti Bapna and Vikram Singh Chauhan. Mardaani 2 will be released on December 13, 2019.
