1971 romantic movie Mehboob Ki Mehndi was a blockbuster hit of year. plot of movie revolves around a young woman called Shabana who lives in Bombay with her grandmor. Her mor, Najma lives in Hyderab with her cunning partner, Nisaar who runs a brol. He tricks Shabana into coming to Hyderab because he wants to force her into working in brol. Fortunately, Shabana is saved by her grandmor who takes her to Lucknow where her foster bror stays. Rajesh Khanna as Yusuf

late actor Rajesh Khanna played role of Yusuf in this movie. Yusuf is son of Nawab Safdarjung who mistakes Shabana to ber her cousin and playfully hits her when she isn't looking. But when he sees her, Yusuf instantly falls in love with her and wants to marry her.

Leena Chandavarkar as Shabana

Leena Chandavarkar essayed role of Shabana in this film. Shabana lives with her grandmor in Bombay and loves to sing., She stays away from her mor who is leing a horrible life and is suppressed by her partner. Shabana learns truth about her mor when she is tricked to come to Hyderab.

Preep Kumar as Khairuddin

Preep Kumar played character of Khairuddin. Anwar's honesty is widely appreciated by Yusuf who appoints him as his far's caretaker. But Khairuddin is actually a thief who has changed his name to Anwar Kammal and has come to kill Yusuf to seek revenge on him due to a family feud.

Iftekhar as Nawab Safdarjung

Iftekhar played role of Nawab Safdarjung in this movie. He is one of wealthiest Nawabs of Lucknow and also approves of his son Yusuf's marriage with Shabana. But he h taken away Khairuddin's far's lands and property which h left Khaiuddin and his family penniless. Khairuddin changes his name and enters ir household to kill Nawab. 

Jagdish Raj as Nisaar Ahmed

Jagdish Raj played role of Nisaar Ahmed. Nissar is Shabana's mor's partner who runs a brol in Hyderab. After Shabana's mor grows old, he wants Shabana to fill in her space at brol and sends out a letter saying her mor is ill.
