Mira Nair set to adapt Ellen Barry's 'The Jungle Prince of Delhi' into a TV series

According to news ncy PTI, director Mira Nair, who is best kwn for films like Namesake, Monsoon Wedding, and more, is set to apt an international publication's story  Jungle Prince of Delhi into a TV series. Written by Ellen Barry, exclusive rights to produce show were snagged by Amazon Studios. 

Mira Nair set to direct ' Jungle Prince of Delhi' for TV

As per PTI, Pulitzer Prize winner's story was published in vember and narrates tale of royal family of Oudh. toppled aristocrats live in a ruined palace in a Jungle in  capital of India and claim to be heirs to ruined kingdom. Jungle Prince of Delhi is set to narrate story of family and will be set in time of partition of India and Pakistan.

Along with Amazon Studios, Jungle Prince of Delhi will be produced by Stacey Snider, Jane Fearstone, Kate Fenske, who are associated with Cherbyl producers SISTER. show will also be produced by Gary Foster and Russ Krasff of Krasff/Foster Entertainment. Ar production involved is Fourth and Twenty Eight Films. He of Scripted Entertainment from publication, Caitlin Roper and Ellen Barry will also be involved in making of show.

As quoted by PTI, Roper said in an interview with a leing portal, “Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Ellen Barry’s beautifully written tale of Oudh family revealed deeper truths rooted in violence and trauma of partition of India.”

“Since its publication, Times has been searching for right partners to expand story’s reach and we are thrilled to work with incomparable Mira Nair, and to be producing Jungle Prince series with Amazon Studios alongside Krasff/Foster Entertainment, SISTER and Fourth and Twenty Eight Films,” Roper ded.

Jungle Prince of Delhi project is just latest deal that international publication has me with entertainment outlets recently. y are also working on launching a docuseries and will also bring to life publication's 1619 Project for both film and TV.
