Actress Tanushree Dutta has reacted on Aamir Khan's latest statement of rehiring the #MeToo accused Subhash Kapoor for 'Mogul'. For those unaware, Geetika Tyagi had accused Subhash Kapoor of sexual misconduct in 2018. In an interview with a leading daily, Tanushree Dutta slammed Aamir Khan and said: "How come nobody in Bollywood has sleepless nights when a woman becomes a victim of abuse and is not able to work due to the trauma and ostracisation?"

She said: "If he has agreed to hire this guy, why not hire the woman who suffered the consequences of his actions? Why do only the creepy men of Bollywood get compassion? Let the girls also see some of that saintly do-goodery. Compassion should be universal. If it's so selective as is being displayed by the Bollywood's bigwigs, then it's not compassion. It's convenience and ignorance. Nobody bothered to ask me how I was doing when my livelihood was snatched away after the Horn Ok Pleassss harassment episode. No compassion for me, Aamir?," Tanushree Dutta told Mid-Day.

It was in October 2018 that director Subhash Kapoor was no longer a part of Gulshan Kumar biopic 'Mogul' which was being produced by Aamir Khan. The actor in a statement said that he was stepping away from the project because it would have meant collaborating with someone accused of sexual harassment. When contacted about Aamir's decision to part ways with the project, Bhushan Kumar of T-Series told PTI, "He (Aamir) doesn't want to work with Subhash Kapoor because of his unfinished case."

And now, in the latest development, Aamir Khan in an interview with Hindustan Times said that he "couldn't sleep at night" thinking about Subhash Kapoor and how his action could have caused a person his right to work. He said: "Until such time that the courts reach a conclusion, is it that he/she should not be allowed to work? I couldn't sleep at night because I used to constantly feel that my actions have inadvertently caused a person, about whose guilt I have absolutely no idea, to lose his right to work and earn a livelihood."

AAMIR KHAN'S STATEMENT IN 2018

When asked whether T-Series will work with Kapoor, Bhushan told PTI, "No.. We won't. We are not making (the film) with him."

"Upon enquiry we found that this particular case is sub-judice, and that the legal process is in motion. So, without casting any aspersions on anyone involved in this case, and without coming to any conclusions about these specific allegations, we have decided to step away from this film. We do not want our action to reflect in any manner on the people involved in this case," the statement from Aamir and wife Kiran Rao read.
