Mrunal Thakur to star opposite Shahid Kapoor in the Hindi remake of 'Jersey'

Mrunal Thakur has me quite a splash within her first two Hindi Films Super 30 and Batla House. She was seen acting opposite two of biggest actors in Bollywood, Hrithik Roshan and John Abraham. It has been revealed that she will now be seen as female le in Shahid Kapoor’s next film Jersey.

Jersey is an official remake of critically acclaimed and commercially successful Telugu film of same name. Gowtham Tinnanuri, director of original version and who is directing Hindi version as well, only saw Mrunal Thakur as his first choice for role. Gowtham revealed that after Shahid came on board, he only h Mrunal on his mind for le opposite him. Her performance and confidence in Super 30 was reason he felt she’s perfectly fit for part in Jersey and will do full justice to role.

Looking at original version, Mrunal Thakur’s character will be anchor to Shahid Kapoor’s, who goes on an emotional journey against all odds to play cricket for country in his mid-30’s, when it’s time for most people to retire from competitive sports. Mrunal Thakur expressed her excitement over working with Shahid Kapoor in Jersey. She stated that she was ‘bowled over’ by amount of passion and emotional journey that was displayed in movie. She furr ded that she felt like she lived a full lifetime of experiences during course of film. film- Jersey impacted her so much that she watched film again next day after thinking about it for entire night. She concluded that she cannot wait for Hindi audiences to get hooked on to film as she did.

Shahid Kapoor recently posted a picture of himself preparing for movie. Jersey will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanauri who helmed critically acclaimed and commercially successful original as well. Produced by Allu Aravind, Aman Gill, Dil Raju. Jersey is slated to release on August 28, 2020.
