Mukesh Khanna is known for wearing a heart on his sleeves when it comes to slamming actors of Bollywood. veteran actor recently bashed Akshay Kumar for his portrayal of Prithviraj Chauhan in movie Samrat Prithviraj (2022). Not just this, he also commented on Tiger Shroff's "lack of stature" to portray role of Shaktimaan.

During a press conference, where Mukesh Khanna was dressed as his iconic character Shaktimaan, bashed Akshay and said that he didn't seem like Prithviraj Chauhan in movie. He said, "Prithviraj Chauhaan kyun nahi lage Akshay Kumar? Sirf muchein aur wig lagaake thodi na ban sakte hai? Ek gait chahiye." When a paparazzo asked who he would like to see as Shaktimaan, actor mocked said, "Chaliye aapko banaa deta hu."

Soon after video from press conference went viral, a section of Internet slammed veteran actor for taking a potshot at Akshay. A user commented, “When Dir @shankarshanmugh asked #AkshayKumar for a getup in #2point0, he used to prepare for 6 hours every day since 6 am. for makeup for a 10 min shoot every day for 25 days. Director of #Prithviraj, in name of aunticity, didn't realise that public perception of Prithviraj is not same as historical. #Akshay went ahe as per directors' demand. Is he at fault? Yes, but partially. director and producers should have realised that y are making a commercial film, and not a documentary.”

However, anor half of internet thought he was right in trolling Akshay. A user wrote, "Arre waah, Shaktiman ne toh sach kaha! Acting mein dil aur intensity honi chahiye, bas muchein aur wig se kaam nahi chalega!" Anor backed his comments and wrote, "Sahi kaha."
