National Cinema Day Box Office: Stree 2 Scores Huge, Beats Yudhra And Tumbbad With ₹4.75 Crore Biz

Shraddha and Rajkummar starrer Stree 2 is on a roll even in its 5th week. On National Cinema Day, it emerged as the highest-grosser among Bollywood films.

National Cinema Day 2024: People turned up in huge numbers to watch movies on the big screens on Friday. Old and new features were priced at ₹99 only and this boosted the box office business. With over 21 titles to watch at a nominal price, some benefitted hugely. Among the Hindi titles, Stree 2 attracted the most crowd, beating newly released actioner Yudhra, starring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Malvika Mohanan and Tumbbad, which was re-released on September 13.

Stree 2 scores big on National Cinema Day 2024

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2 is on a roll even in its fifth week. On National Cinema Day, it emerged as the highest-grosser among Bollywood films. The film minted ₹24.65 crore in its fifth week, setting the stage for a bigger weekend, which started off on a positive note due to controlled ticket prices.

According to Sacnilk, Stree 2 collected ₹4.75 crore (early estimates), taking its total to ₹568.75 crore in India in all languages. As per another report on Box Office India, the film will near ₹575 crore soon. According to the website, the film has done well in core Hindi-speaking areas, where it has beaten big blockbusters like Pathaan, Jawan and Animal. It will now look to outperform Baahubali 2 and Gadar 2 in these regions. An interesting fact being, Stree 2 is made on a nominal budget compared to the aforementioned big banner releases.

How did Tumbbad and Yudhra perform as compared to Stree 2

Tumbbad, which surpassed the collection during its original run, saw a jump in its collection on National Cinema Day. It collected ₹2.65 crore on its 8th day, taking its total to well over ₹16 crore. Yudhra, which opened on Friday benefitted from low ticket prices and its business was in the range of ₹4.50-₹4.75 crore. It will be interesting to see how the Siddhant Chaturvedi starrer performs in the coming days.
