This film is about a poor labourer who lived in the Gehlaur village near Gaya, Bihar. The movie was released worldwide on August 21, 2015. The film featured Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the role of Dashrath Manjhi while Radhika Apte portrayed his wife. Dashrath Manjhi, who is popularly known as a mountain man, spent twenty-two years of his life carving a road through a treacherous mountain. The film and Nawaz's performance received critical acclaim and also received numerous awards and nominations.
