In 2018, first season of Anurag Kashyap's Sacred Games streamed online on Netflix. series, featuring Saif Ali Khan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Radhika Apte in lead, is based on Vikram Chandra's best-selling vel of same name. series narrates  tale of a police inspector, played by Saif Ali Khan, who tries to save Mumbai from a catastrophic attack of an underworld don, played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui. first season of series garnered an insane amount of appreciation from audience for its graphics and intriguing storyline.

A. revelation of Cuckoo's sexuality
One of iconic characters of series was Cuckoo, a singer-cum-dancer and Ganesh Gaitonde's girlfriend. In one of scenes, when Cuckoo reveals truth of her sexuality to Gaitonde, emotional side of Gaitonde comes to light, who n hugs her and accepts her way she is. scene marks start of a romantic relationship between Gaitonde and Cuckoo.

B. tragic death of Cuckoo
Ganesh's love interest Cuckoo is shot by one of his enemies in a particular episode. death of Cuckoo affects Ganesh to extent where he loses his mental balance. Cuckoo's death also encours Gaitonde to assassinate his rivals, becoming  'underworld king' of Mumbai.

C. moments before death
Gaintonde commits suicide by shooting himself in an underground bunker. But before he shoots himself, Gaitonde's love for Mumbai city and his people leads him to call Sartaj Singh (played by Saif Ali Khan) and warn him about possible threat to city.
