No Singh Is Kinng 2 Without Akshay Kumar? Why Diljit Dosanjh, Ranveer Singh Can't Replace OG Star

Singh is Kinng is an Anees Bazmee directorial which released in 2008. The film was produced by Vipul Amruta Shah and was received well by the audiences as well as the critics. In midst of this, there are reports of sequel making rounds on social media. But, there is an interesting twist to it.

Will Akshay Kumar be part of Singh is Kinng sequel?

In a recent interview with Mid-day, Singh is Kinng producer Shailendra Singh confirmed that he will be working on the sequel of Singh is Kinng and is aiming for a 2026 release. But, interestingly, the film cannot move forward without Akshay Kumar’s involvement in the film.

According to reports, Akshay Kumar banner holds 50 percent of the IP for Singh is Kinng, which means that a sequel to this cult comedy can’t be made without his involvement.  In addition, rumours are rife that anyone wants to make a part two should take NOC from Akshay Kumar.

But, Akshay Kumar and his team reportedly won’t part ways with Singh is Kinng and will make part 2 when a good script will be there. The source also added that,” The comic franchises in the time to come-from Jolly LLB to Welcome, Housefull and Bhagam Bhag-would be a return gift from his end for all the love over the years”.

All about Singh is Kinng

Singh is Kinng gained recognition after the film released in 2008. The film revolves around Happy Singh, a Punjabi villager who goes through a series of misadventures and eventually becomes the king of the Australian underworld.

Singh is Kinng stars Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Kirron Kher, Sonu Sood, Ranvir Shorey, Neha Dhupia, Manoj Pahwa, Jaaved Jaaferi, Yashpal Sharma, Om Puri, Sudhanshu Pandey and Kamal Chopra among others.
