The much-anticipated trailer of the biopic on NT Rama Rao titled ‘NTR Kathanayakudu’ has been unveiled and it looks like there’s a gripping ride for the moviegoers in store. Nandamuri Balakrishna plays the role of his father, NTR, who was immensely successful as a Telugu actor and served as Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh for three terms. The trailer starts off with visuals of NTR dressed as Lord Krishna, cast despite apprehensions from someone because of the ‘spark of mischief in his eyes.’ The actor-politician was known for playing the role of Gods like Krishna and Rama, which brought him immense popularity, starting with ‘Mayabazar.’

His early life sees him leaving his job to fulfill his dream of becoming an actor. His relationship with wife Basavatarakam, played by Vidya Balan, in her Telugu debut, features their bonding over music.

NTR's life takes a turn when he decides to join politics and he is discouraged with the words, “People flock to the theatres for you, if you interact with them, who will watch your movies.” He was confident, “I feel I should act for people. If it comes between the people and me, I will leave films.”

We see NTR’s immense popularity with people welcoming him with currency garlands and pouring milk over his massive poster. The trailer mentions him as the first superstar of India.

Several of his iconic moments are recreated, including ‘Aaku Chatu Pinde Tadise’ song from the movie ‘Vetagadu’ opposite late Sridevi. Rakul Preet Singh has stepped into the legendary actress’ shoes.

The next turn in his life seems to be a spiritual one. He is seen heading to a place for which he is dissuaded by Vidya’s character saying, “People look at you as a god, over there you’ll become like an ordinary man.”He responds, “I’m ready to become an ordinary man for people who made me god.” He is seen as bald and his dressing also changes following that.
