OMG 2 box office Day 1 estimates: Akshay Kumar starrer likely to get a decent opening

Akshay Kumar starrer OMG 2 hit the screens on August 11. The film clashed with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and Rajinikanth’s Jailer at the box office. Despite the competition, OMG 2 is expected to get a decent opening in the theatres, as per the early box office estimates.

What's the Box Office estimates of OMG 2 like? 

OMG 2, starring Akshay Kumar, debuted in cinemas on Friday. The film has been given ‘A’ certificate by the CBFC, restricting it to only adult audiences. Despite this, OMG 2 is expected to get a decent opening at the box-office. In addition, the good reviews and word-of-mouth will allow the movie to maximise its profit with time. 

The film exhibitor Akshaye Rathi told Republic Digital that OMG 2 will earn Rs 8-9 crore at domestic box office. Keeping in mind that it is a social drama, and its chances have also been affected by the adult rating, this seems well enough numbers for the first day. OMG 2 has had a respectable start overall, since its launch also provides a foundation for it to develop over the weekend and have some staying power in the long run.

What is the plotline of OMG 2? 

OMG 2 centres on the issue of sex education in the Indian educational system. Much like the first film, the sequel also seemingly explores the relationship of devotees with the almighty. It carries references to Hindu mythology. In between subtle comic punches, Pankaj Tripathi's nuanced acting and an intense courtroom drama, Yami Gautam essays the role of a stern lawyer who is up against Tripathi. 

OMG 2’s supporting cast boasts of stars like Arun Govil, Pawan Malhotra, and Govind Namdev. It is produced by Cape of Good Films, Ashwin Varde, Vipul D Shah, and Rajesh Bahl, while Dr. Chandraprakash Diwedi is the creative producer of the movie.
