Pak actress Mehwish Hayat slams Alia Bhatt & B-town over plagiarism

Pak actress Mehwish Haya has slammed Alia Bhatt and other B-town celebrities over plagiarizing Pakistani content. It comes in wake of Bhatt's new song, 'Prada'

Mehwish Hayat, Pakistani actress has criticized Bollywood for its alleged 'hypocrisy' and has accused it of plagiarising Pakistani content. Her comment came in the wake of Alia Bhatt's new song, 'Prada' that released just a few weeks back. The Pak actress has alleged that it has a series of similarities with Pakistani song "Gore Rang Ka Zamana" from the 'Vital Signs' album. Mehwish also took to Twitter to slam Bollywood and claimed that she finds it quite strange that Bollywood 'vilifies' Pakistan at every opportunity they get but they continue to 'steal their songs'.

PAKISTAN BANS INDIAN CD'S 

The Pakistan government launched a crackdown on the sale of CDs of Indian movies after New Delhi revoked the special status to Jammu and Kashmir, according to a media report on Friday. The crackdown is the latest in series of measures announced by a completely spooked Pakistan in reaction to revocation of special status of Kashmir by India.

It also comes after Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) banned the airing of advertisements featuring Indian artists and India-made products.  

"We have banned Indian advertisements and launched a crackdown on CD shops to confiscate Indian movies," Dawn newspaper quoted Firdous Ashiq Awan, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Information, as saying. 

PAKISTAN BANS ADVERTISEMENTS FEATURING INDIAN ARTISTS 

Pakistan's electronic media watchdog banned the airing of advertisements featuring Indian artists as part of the country's protest against India revoking the special status of Jammu and Kashmir. The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) circulated a letter dated Aug 14 on Wednesday announcing the ban.

Pemra said that it already withdrew the permission for airing Indian channels and content on the directions of the Pakistan Supreme Court in October last year.
