Panipat movie: Arjun's next is based on the third battle of Panipat

The movie, Panipat, is based on the famous historical war of the same name. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker and produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar. As per reports, Arjun Kapoor will be playing the role of a Maratha Leader Sadashivrao Bhau, Sanjay Dutt will play the role of Ahmad Shah Durrani and Kriti Sanon will be seen as Arjun’s second wife Parvatibai.

The film, Panipat will be starring Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar. Panipat will tell the story of the historic third battle of Panipat, which was fought between the Marathas and the Afghan ruler Ahmad Shah Abdali’s army in 1761. The films also stars veteran actors like Zeenat Aman and Padmini Kolhapure. Panipat’s producers are Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar. The music director duo of Ajay-Atul will be handling the film’s music.

About the director

Panipat is written and directed by the Everest director, Ashutosh Gowarikar. He is known for his works such as Lagaan: Once Upon A Time In India, Swades, and Jodhaa Akbar. Panipat is currently in the filming stage and according to reports, the film is scheduled to release on December 6, 2019. 

On the work front, Arjun Kapoor will be starring next in Dibakar Banerjee’s Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar alongside Parineeti Chopra. Kriti Sanon will be next seen in Farhad Samji’s Housefull 4, which is set to release on October 25.
