Ashutosh Gowariker has directed yet ar historical films after directing hits like Lagaan and Jodhaa Akbar. film is called Panipat: Great Betrayal. It will revolve around life of Sashivrao Bhau, commander-in-chief during third battle of Panipat. film features Arjun Kapoor and Kriti San along with Sanjay Dutt. As name suggests, film chronicles Mangal Pandey's life. Mangal Pandey was rebellious Indian soldier who sparked first war of Indian Independence back in 1857. film marked comeback of Aamir Khan after he went for a break from acting in 2001. Mangal Pandey: Rising was premiered at auspicious Cannes Film Festival back in 2005. film was directed by Ketan Mehta and features Rani Mukerji and Toby Stephens in supporting roles.

3) Bajirao Mastani (2015)
Bajirao Mastani was reportedly Sanjay Leela Bhansali's dream project. film was conceptualised in early 1990s but wasn't worked on concretely by Bhansali until 2014. film revolves around historical romance between Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani. film features Ranveer Singh, Deepika Pukone and Priyanka Chopra in le roles. Bajirao Mastani was a huge success at box office.
