Bollywood filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker has a list of commendable movies under his cap, especially in the historical genre. His upcoming directorial is a high-octane drama film titled Panipat and is considered to be one of the most anticipated movies of the year. Panipat chronicles the righteous and historical story of the Third Battle of Panipat that took place in 1761. While anticipation kicks in, Kriti Sanon took to Instagram and shared the first look of Sanjay Dutt from the film, and it is also the first character reveal from the film.

In the post, Sanjay Dutt can be seen donning a heavy military gear all prepared for battle! His character's name was also revealed as Ahmad Shah Abdali. Sharing the first look, Sanon captioned it as "Death Strikes Where His Shadow Falls". Take a look below-
Panipat movie stars Arjun Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt in pivotal roles. Kriti Sanon and Zoya Hussain will also be a part of this film. In the poster, we get a glimpse of a fiery background, with rulers ready to march on a battle. The poster is titled saying, “The Battle That Changed History”. Ashutosh further announced that the film will hit the screens next month on December 6. Sharing the same poster on Twitter, Arjun wrote, "Come Witness The Battle That Changed History, #Panipat. In Cinemas December 6th." Fans have poured their comments in huge numbers.

In a recent interview with a news agency, Kriti Sanon said that she was surprised when filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker offered his ambitious period drama "Panipat" to her, but she took it as an opportunity to experiment. Panipat is Kriti's first historical period drama and she is excited about the project. "It is a great story that needs to be told. I like the character of Parvati Bai, especially the way Ashu sir has written it. It did attract me as I have never done something like this before. I was initially confused like how come he thought of me to play this Marathi girl because I am a North Indian, Punjabi.
