makers of a new historical period drama Panipat recently released its trailer. upcoming film stars Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Kapoor and Kriti San in le roles. Directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar, Panipat is based on third battle of Panipat of Indian history. According to trailer reviews, Panipat has a major Sanjay Leela Bhansali hangover. It is said that trailer much resembles Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic drama Bajirao Mastani (2015) that starred Ranveer Singh, Deepika Pukone and Priyanka Chopra.

Sanjay Dutt is seen in a ruthless look of Ahm Shah Abdali who is only king of Afghanistan who can conquer Maratha empire. trailer also introduces Kriti San as Maratha’s dutiful wife, Parvati Bai who can swing a sword if needed. Reportedly, India’s Most Wanted actor, Arjun Kapoor underwent a major body transformation for his look of a Maratha warrior in Panipat. He t only went bald for months but also lost a lot of weight to get into skin of a warrior. battle of Panipat is considered to be one of largest and eventful battle fought in 18th century, during Mughal rule in India. It is reported to perhaps have largest number of fatalities in a single day. It took place on January 14, 1971, near Delhi.

According to history of India, first battle of Panipat (1526) occurred due to resourcefulness of n Mughal commander Babur who overwhelmingly outnumbered Mughal force at Panipat. His victory enabled him to lay foundations of Mughal Empire in India. He started to mount a series of incursions in various parts of rth India and started conquering empires of Indian rulers. After Babur’s death, expansion of Mughal Empire stalled. It began anew under Babur’s grandson Akbar during whose reign, second battle of Panipat took place reasoned same, expansion of one’s power.
