Saina Nehwal biopic: Parineeti Chopra practices badminton during shoot

Parineeti Chopra, who will be seen playing the role of ace badminton player Saina Nehwal in her upcoming movie, is leaving no stone unturned to be in Saina Nehwal's shoes. She has been religiously learning the sport so that her on-screen performance looks as real as it can be. She has been practising badminton for a long time now. 

Parineeti's dedication and preparation for the role

Recently, on October 11, 2019, she was spotted outside the Khar Gymkhana. As reported by a leading daily, the filmmakers of the movie along with the director Amol Gupte have scheduled the whole shooting in such a way that Parineeti Chopra gets enough time to practice. According to the reports, after every three days of movie shooting, there’s a break for Parineeti to practice and ace her gaming skills. The filmmakers have taken this decision so that Parineeti could be seen playing badminton convincingly on-screen. The team is currently filming the interactions of Saina Nehwal with other characters of the movie that includes her family, friends and the media.

Reportedly, director Amole Gupte agreed to the schedule planning and also mentioned that it is a tough task for Parineeti. However, he revealed that she is dedicatedly working on it. Amole also informed that the shooting of the matches will be done later and so Parineeti has enough time to excel in her game. He added that as a filmmaker, he has to ensure that Parineeti Chopra has enough time to practice so she can perform her best on-screen.

The producer of the movie, Bhushan Kumar, while talking to the leading daily exclaimed that Parineeti wants to make sure that she is fully prepped up for badminton sequences in the movie. Also, the schedule of the shooting is planned accordingly. Bhushan added that as a filmmaker he understands that the actor needs to be at her best as she is portraying the role of a real-life champion and wants to do complete justice to both, Saina’s achievements and the sport.  

Parineeti Chopra is preparing to play the Olympian for six months now. Her coach, Eshan Naqvi, accompanied her to London when she was shooting there. Parineeti also acknowledged the role of saying that she has discovered the person and the actor she is.

The actress was last seen in the movie Jabariya Jodi alongside Sidharth Malhotra. The movie did not perform well on the box-office. She is now gearing up for another film, The Girl on the Train. Parineeti Chopra recently completed shooting the movie after seven weeks of shooting in London.
