Pearl V Puri rape case: DCP reacts as Ekta Kapoor calls rape allegations false

After TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor penned a strong note in defense of actor Pearl V Puri. Reacting to it, Mumbai Police claimed that there's proof against him.

After TV Czarina Ekta Kapoor penned a strong te in defense of actor Pearl V Puri who was arrested on rape charges, Mumbai Police DCP has commented claiming accusations to be true and citing proof against actor of same. Ekta in her te h shared that she h spoken to mor of victim, who lodged complaint against actor and she h stated that he was incent. However, Vasai DCP Sanjay Kumar Patil has said that accusations against Pearl are t false.

Recently, during a press conference, Patil was asked about Ekta calling accusations false, In reply, he said, ", accusations are t false. His name has come up in investigation. re is evidence against him. That is why police have arrested him. truth will be decided in trial." DCP furr stated that “far of victim h lodged a complaint in Versova police station claiming that ir daughter has fallen prey to sexual assault. Since jurisdiction was from Naigaon as shooting was happening re. So case became a zero FIR and got transferred. actor was n booked under Section 376 A, B, and POCSO Act. We have conducted medical examination and have also recorded statement of accused under CRPC 164 and since.”

In a long te after  Naagin actor’s arrest, Ekta h expressed her displeasure about actor being allegedly dragged into a marital dispute and custody battle with misuse of 'Me too' movement. Ekta, who h worked with Pearl, asked her fans if she will ever ‘support a child molester or molester of any kind.’ producer stated that what she witnessed last night was an ‘absolute low in human depravity’.

She asked why a ‘third person' was being dragged into a fight. Ekta stated that victim’s mor told her that victim’s husband was ‘trying to create stories’ in a custody battle for ir child, to prove that ‘working mor on a set cant take care of her kid.’ She stated that if this was indeed true, n it was ‘wrong on many levels.’ She n stated that film industry was safe or unsafe as any or industry, and to give it a ‘b name’, like in this case, of re being ‘predators’ onset, was ‘lowest form of low ever’. Ekta urged her followers to look ‘more deeply’ on how movements like #MeToo were being used unfairly, ‘reducing gravitas of situation.’ She also used hashtag ‘May Justice Prevail’. actor was reportedly sent to 14-day judicial custody after being arrested in rape case.
