Priyanka Chopra: 'Dream to see Hindi cinema appeal global audience'
Speaking about The Sky Is Pink's TIFF premiere, Priyanka Chopra in a recent interview said that she dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to the global audience.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has become a woman of international presence in the past few years, starring in several Hollywood ventures. After a hiatus of almost three years, the actress is now finally returning to the Hindi cinema with 'The Sky Is Pink'. The Shonali Bose directorial premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 13 and was widely appreciated by the audience and critics. While the initial reviews of 'The Sky Is Pink' describe it as an emotional rollercoaster packed with heart-touching moments, it also received a 15 minutes standing-ovation post-screening.

Talking about the same in a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra said that she dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to the global audience. The actress opened up about her emotions witnessing a crowd of over 2000 people cheering for her film. She said she was touched to see the audience included people from around the world, hailing the Indian venture on the international platform.
"What made me emotional was the audience in the theatre was not just Indian, they were North Americans, Canadians and many more which were not just Hindi speaking people. They reacted to the sub-titles that were there in our film and they stood up and applauded after reading the subtitles" ANI quoted Priyanka Chopra as saying.

"The fact that the movie transcended language and borders, that made me emotional because it's my dream to see Hindi cinema appeal to a global audience," she added.

Priyanka Chopra turning producer with 'The Sky Is Pink'
'The Sky Is Pink' is a very special film for Priyanka Chopra, not only because she is making a return to the industry after starring in 2016 venture 'Jai Gangajal', but also because she is donning the producer's hat for the first time. Recalling how co-star Farhan Akhtar produced her during the initial days of her career, she said, "It's my first Hindi production. So that was something I was really proud of... Farhan Akhtar produced me many years ago when I just started doing movies and now I am producing him."

Priyanka Chopra on her return to Bollywood
Priyanka Chopra who has quite a number of commitments in the West also opened up about her plans to continue with more Bollywood films. She said that she is starting to "shop for more scripts", however, nothing has been finalized yet.
"As far as the Hindi language is concerned I haven't thought anything for now, and since 'The Sky is Pink' is done I am starting to shop for more scripts that I want to do. I have been going through some scripts but I need to figure out my time. I am also doing a bunch of other things so within that I have to see when and what I can do," Priyanka Chopra reportedly said.
The Sky Is Pink
'The Sky Is Pink' narrates a love story of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary's parents, played by Priyanka and Farhan Akhtar. 'Dangal' actress Zaira Wasim, who recently quit acting, is essaying the role of Aisha in the film. Rohit Saraf is also a part of the cast.
The incredible love saga spanning over 25 years, is narrated through the lens of their teenage daughter - Aisha (Zaira Wasim). Aisha became a motivational speaker after being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. 'The Sky Is Pink' is co-produced by Priyanka Chopra along with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur. It is all set to hit the theaters on October 11 this year.
