Priyanka Chopra: 'Dream to see Hindi cinema appeal global audience'

Speaking about The Sky Is Pink's TIFF premiere, Priyanka Chopra in a recent interview said that she dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to the global audience.

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has become a woman of international presence in past few years, starring in several Hollywood ventures. After a hiatus of almost three years,  actress is w finally returning to Hindi cinema with ' Sky Is Pink'.  Shonali Bose directorial premiered at Toronto International Film Festival on September 13 and was widely appreciated by audience and critics. While initial reviews of ' Sky Is Pink' describe it as an emotional rollercoaster packed with heart-touching moments, it also received a 15 minutes standing-ovation post-screening.

Talking about same in a recent interview, Priyanka Chopra said that she dreams to see Hindi cinema appeal to global audience. actress opened up about her emotions witnessing a crowd of over 2000 people cheering for her film. She said she was touched to see audience included people from around world, hailing Indian venture on international platform.

"What made me emotional was audience in atre was t just Indian, y were rth Americans, Canadians and many more which were t just Hindi speaking people. y reacted to sub-titles that were re in our film and y stood up and applauded after reading subtitles" ANI quoted Priyanka Chopra as saying.

" fact that movie transcended langu and borders, that made me emotional because it's my dream to see Hindi cinema appeal to a global audience," she added.

Priyanka Chopra turning producer with ' Sky Is Pink'

' Sky Is Pink' is a very special film for Priyanka Chopra, t only because she is making a return to industry after starring in 2016 venture 'Jai Gangajal', but also because she is donning producer's hat for first time.  Recalling how co-star Farhan Akhtar produced her during initial days of her career, she said, "It's my first Hindi production. So that was something I was really proud of... Farhan Akhtar produced me many years ago when I just started doing movies and w I am producing him."

Priyanka Chopra on her return to Bollywood

Priyanka Chopra who has quite a number of commitments in West also opened up about her plans to continue with more Bollywood films. She said that she is starting to "shop for more scripts", however, thing has been finalized yet.

"As far as Hindi langu is concerned I haven't thought anything for w, and since ' Sky is Pink' is done I am starting to shop for more scripts that I want to do. I have been going through some scripts but I need to figure out my time. I am also doing a bunch of or things so within that I have to see when and what I can do," Priyanka Chopra reportedly said.

Sky Is Pink

' Sky Is Pink' narrates a love story of motivational speaker Aisha Chaudhary's parents, played by Priyanka and Farhan Akhtar. 'Dangal' actress Zaira Wasim, who recently quit acting, is essaying role of Aisha in film. Rohit Saraf is also a part of cast.

 incredible love saga spanning over 25 years, is narrated through lens of ir teen daughter - Aisha (Zaira Wasim). Aisha became a motivational speaker after being diagsed with pulmonary fibrosis at of 13. ' Sky Is Pink' is co-produced by Priyanka Chopra along with Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur.  It is all set to hit aters on October 11 this year.
