D’s 'Unbreakable Rule'

In her memoir 'Unfinished', Priyanka recalls time when Hindi film industry was male-dominated and how her far Ashok Chopra’s guidance saved her from terrible experiences in Bollywood. She stated that before outsourcing manment, her far Ashok Chopra h established an “unbreakable rule”. rule would go as, “ nighttime meetings, thing after sundown.”

actor furr ds how she didn’t “understand” rule at beginning and whenever she “questioned” it, her far would say, “All meetings will be in daytime when you'll be in presence of eir Mom or me.” Priyanka states that it was her far’s “fear of big b world of entertainment” and his protectiveness that kept her away from terrible experiences many young actors h to go through in film industry.

An Insight Into Hindi Film Industry

Providing deep insight into her professional life, Priyanka states that Bollywood was “mostly patriarchal” with male producers having a command over sets as y would be ones “calling shots”. She shared how “things centered on male actor” and cited upon huge mismatch of schedules on sets of her “early” films. While Priyanka would arrive as per scheduled time, male actor would keep whole cast and crew waiting for an entire day.

excerpt from memoir goes as, “I was on a huge learning curve for first few years of my career, and one of things that I was learning was that Hindi film industry was mostly patriarchal: male producers usually calling shots, and things centered on male actor. I saw this play out on set of one of my early movies. I would arrive as scheduled at 9:00 AM every day. My male co-actor, however, wouldn't arrive until 4:30 in afteron, keeping crew and all or actors waiting.”

Priyanka Chopra's Unfinished has definitely turned out to be an inspiring re for her fans.
