Ileana D'Cruz's role was based on Anurag Basu's mor?

Yes, Ileana D'Cruz's character Shruti Ghosh was loosely based on Anurag Basu's mor. Her attire in film was same as that of Anurag Basu's mor. actor h initially declined offer. t only Ileana D'Cruz but also actor Katrina Kaif declined  role in film. However, Ileana D'Cruz later accepted  role after a long negotiation.

Barfi! was minated for Oscars?

film was also an official submission from India for  Best Foreign Langu Film at 85th Oscars. film did t win title but was marked as one of best Bollywood films. film received award for Best Film at Filmfare Awards.
