Kunal Kohli, well known for films like 'Fanaa', 'Hum Tum' and 'Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, goes on a Twitter rant comparing the award shows in India and on an International level.

The director's sarcastic tweets began with how the Academy Awards should take a lesson or two from the Indian award shows. He wrote how 'Oscars don't realise that it is all about TRPs and sponsors'.

He went ahead and wrote that Indian award shows 'keeps everyone happy' and how International awards are losing out on the revenue because they don't get a name sponsor. He wrote: "And can you Imagine how much revenue #Oscars have lost by not getting a name sponsor? These guys really need to learn from us. I mean wouldn’t it sound lovely to have XYZ garam masala Oscar awards? Wasted opportunity by the academy and bafta & Cannes uffff"

One user replied to Kunal's one of the tweets and wrote: "SRK did not get the national award for Swades inspite of not only being the best male performance that year but also the biggest superstar. Imagine loosing out on for performance in a film like Swades to an okayish performance in a movie like Hum Tum."

To which Kunal replied by saying, "SRK’s performance in Swades will always remain one of the best ever. Some performances like his in Swades & many others stand the test of time. That’s the true brilliance & class of actors like @iamsrk" [sic]

Kunal Kohli's last film was 'Teri Meri Kahaani' featuring Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor, in 2012. He later made his acting debut with a romantic drama Phir Se (2016)

On the work front, Kunal Kohli's next film is 'RamYug', an adaptation of epic Ramayana. “I have always been cautious while making any film. I got into a problem while we were making Fanaa. These are unfortunate things that happen. One has to be cautious, which is why we have people like Narendra Kohli as a consultant. If you see his body of work, you’ll realise how accurate he is,” Kohli told the media.
