Raj Babbar recalls how he was offered Insaaf Ka Tarazu

In an interview with Rajshri Unplugged, Raj Babbar opened up about he came to be offered his breakout role - Ramesh from Insaaf Ka Tarazu. For unversed, actor essayed role of antagonist in film. 

Babbar shares how he got a call from BR Chopra, a conversation which mentioned Zeenat Aman's name. Babbar at time was almost too surprised to believe that it was Zeenat Aman who was being mentioned. As per his conversation with Chopra, Aman h agreed to star with new faces but she would be vetting. As story of film was being narrated to Babbar, he recalls hoping that he would land part.

Babbar said, "Chopra ji told me that he is making a film. He said, 'I have spoken to Zeenat' and I was thinking, ‘Who Zeenat?’ but I was sitting in BR Chopra’s office, and if a Zeenat is being mentioned, it has to be Zeenat Aman." Babbar recalled Chopra ding, "She is rey to work with two new actors. We have to make you meet her." Besides Babbar, second actor under consideration was Deepak Parashar.

Following this conversation, Babbar and Parashar went onto meet Aman. meeting was a brief one, at end of which actress gave her go-ahe for both actors under consideration. He furr elaborated how back in day, actresses of repute would vet actors y would be seen against, much like trition of vetting girls for arranged marriage.

He said, " next day, we were introduced to Zeenat ji, and she also said ok. Yes, she saw us. Like how in arranged marriages, a girl is seen. Earlier, big names, big heroines used to first see who y are going to work with, but she is a great human."
