Rajinikanth: Sun Pictures announces actor's new film 'Thalaivar 168'

About a month ago, Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie’s second look created a lot of buzz amongst viewers. Before Rajinikanth’s upcoming movie Darbar has hit the theatres, the actor surprised the fans by announcing his new film. After the success of Karthik Subbaraj’s action drama Petta, Rajinikanth signed another movie with the same production banner with whom he made Enthiran starring Aishwarya Rai in 2010. The film to be directed by Siva Prasad Reddy is named Thalaivar 168.

Sun Pictures, the movie’s production banner, posted a video on their Twitter handle. It said that Sun Pictures and Rajinikanth are collaborating for the third time for their upcoming project Thalaivar 168. They have earlier associated together for S. Shankar’s Enthiran and Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta. According to media reports, Thalaivar 168 will be set in the rural backdrop and its pre-production work has started.
About his upcoming film, Darbar
Rajinikanth currently working on his upcoming film Darbar. The second look fo the film showcased him in rage and giving fierce expression. He was visible pressing himself against an iron bar. The Petta actor might perform an action sequence in Darbar. Lyca Productions, the producer of Darbar, shared his new look on its official Twitter handle.
This action thriller film helmed by AR Murugadoss will release on Pongal next year. Produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the banner of Lyca Productions, the film also features Suneil Shetty, Nayanthara, Nawab Shah, Prateik Babbar, and Dalip Tahil in prominent roles. Rajinikanth will be seen portraying a cop in Darbar. According to sources, the actor will be seen in this avatar after almost 27 years. He was last seen playing a policeman in 1992 action film Pandiyan.
