National Award winning Indian actor Rajkummar Rao promotes Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'India Wali Diwali' campaign, says 'What a simple yet noble thought!'

On the festive occasion of Diwali, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a campaign called India Wali Diwali for celebrating the festival with underprivileged kids. National award-winning actor Rajkummar Rao supports the cause of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's ‘India Wali Diwali' campaign and believes in the all-embracing spirit of this festival. The idea of 'India Wali Diwali' is to not only celebrate Diwali with friends and family but also with the less privileged.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared actor Rajkummar Rao's tweet which has a video highlighting the social disparity prevalent in India during different festivals. The message conveyed is that of happiness and prosperity which, when shared with the less privileged sections of our society, will increase multifold. The video has voiceover by actor Rajkummar Rao and Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi.

Actor Rajkummar Rao asserts that it was an honour for him be a part of the campaign. He urges his followers to support the initiative and help the underprivileged sections of society. The campaign encourages donating clothes, food, gifts to the underprivileged in the form of a video that also features television actors like Ragini Khanna and Anang Desai among others.

The director of the video wanted to convey the message with as much simplicity as the visuals used in the video. He lauded Rajkummar Rao for the huge amount of credibility that he brought to the India Wali Diwali campaign. The director also praised Rajkummar for being an incredibly fine actor. Through his acting, Rajkummar truly engaged with the noble cause that he is supporting.

Earlier this month Deepika appeared in a video as part of the ‘Bharat Ki Laxmi' campaign by the Prime Minister to showcase the achievement of women across the country. The Bharat Ki Laxmi initiative appeals to the people to share stories of success of the women in their lives with the hashtag ‘BharatKiLaxmi’. Its aim is to propagate the ideas of gender equality through women empowerment on social media which is accessible to all.
