In an old interview, Rakul Preet Singh shared what made her avoid bursting firecrackers on Diwali. actress shared that she used to take part in this Diwali tradition until her far put a stop to her. She admitted that he gave her an eccentric punishment which made Rakul realise her mistake.

Speaking to Dainik Jagran, Rakul recalled “It was a memorable Diwali. My far gave me a ₹500 te and asked me to burn it. I was shocked and asked him why he was asking me to do such a thing. He told me, 'But that is exactly what you are doing. You are buying crackers and bursting m. What if you use money to buy some chocolates and give m to needy." She added, “I must have been around 9 or 10-year-old girl. I remember we went to sweets shop, bought sweets and distributed m among homeless. I felt different kind of happiness that day and have t burst crackers ever since.”
