The much-awaited NTR biopic went on floors recently and reports suggest that the entire cast has started shooting for the film at Abids in Hyderabad where Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR) resided in the 80s. The makers chose to shoot at the real location, in order to add credibility to 'NTR – the Biopic'. NTR's son Nandamuri Balakrishna will be seen playing a titular role in the film while 'Bahubali' actor Rana Daggupati will portray the role of Chandrababu Naidu in the NTR biopic. A picture revealing Rana's look from the sets was recently leaked online and went viral on social media. Rana resembles Andhra Pradesh's Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in a white linen shirt sporting a different hairdo. In addition to this, it seems that the actor has lost a lot of weight to look the part.
As per reports, Rana expressed his excitement and said that shooting the biopic in NTR's real home is heart touching and walking into that house was like travelling through history and time for him. The actor further said that recreating NTR's story in his own home is surreal and is the most memorable day of his film career.

Meanwhile, the film also stars Vidya Balan who will play the role of NTR'S wife Basavatarakam. The biopic marks Vidya's debut in Telugu cinema. As per reports, veteran actor and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N T Rama Rao married Basavatarakami at the age of 20. The biopic is helmed by Krish who recently wrapped up the shoot for Kangana Ranaut's much-awaited period drama 'Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi'. Earlier, Dharma Teja was on board to direct the biopic but due to a creative difference with Nandamuri Balakrishna, he opted out of the project. The biopic is bilingual and will be released in Telugu and Hindi. Meanwhile, the music will be composed by M. M. Keeravani and the film will be backed by Nandamuri Balakrishna, Sai Korrapati Ranganatha, and Vishnu Induri. The makers are planning to release the three-hour long biopic based on the former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on Dussehra 2018.
