Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor is one of the highest-paid actors in the Indian film industry. Ever since his debut, the actor has been a recipient of over 50 awards for his acting and his contributions towards the Hindi cinema. The fourth-generation sensation from the Kapoor family, Ranbir has always been known for his versatility in acting and is often appreciated for his choice of roles. Be it playing a troubled musician in ‘Rockstar’ or portraying a deaf man’s character in ‘Barfi’, Ranbir Kapoor has been consistently delivering flawless performances.

 10. Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani – This 2009’s romantic comedy was the actor’s 1st ever film to cross the 100-crore mark at the box-office. Ranbir and actress Katrina Kaif were widely praised for their comic timings. Along with being a commercial success, it also received many positive reviews from fans and the critics. The movie is widely regarded as one of Bollywood’s best romantic comedies of the 21st century.

9. Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani – Within weeks after its release, this movie became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. In this Ayan Mukerji’s directorial venture, Ranbir Kapoor was paired opposite Deepika Padukone in lead. The film also starred Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur as supporting cast. The magnitude of the film’s success was evident with the number of nominations it received in the 59th Filmfare Awards.

8. Bombay Velvet – This Anurag Kashyap’s 120-crore tent pole turned out to be a box-office failure. However, the performances of lead actors Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma were widely praised by critics.

7. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil Ae Dil Hai Mushkil was a 2016 romantic drama film directed by Karan Johar. Alongside Ranbir Kapoor, the film also starred Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in lead roles. The movie became a huge box-office draw, grossing ₹237.56 crores worldwide at the end of its run. For his performance as Alizeh Khan, Ranbir Kapoor received several nominations under ‘Best Actor’ category.

6. Wake Up Sid Wake Up Sid was a coming-of-age comedy-drama film directed by Ayan Mukerji. This was Ranbir Kapoor’s third movie as the lead role and he managed to bag a Filmfare nomination for Best Actor. The movie also marked the first ever collaboration of director Ayan Mukerji with the actor. With the film’s success, the actor-director duo went on to collaborate in many Bollywood projects thereafter.

5. Tamasha – This Imtiaz Ali romantic drama featured Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Due to its high budget, the movie failed to make much profit. However, like his previous performances, Ranbir Kapoor was once again the stand-out performer. To this date, Tamasha is rated highly among the fans of the actor.

4. Anjaana Anjaani Anjaana Anjaani was a 2010 romantic drama directed by Siddharth Anand. The movie went to become a commercial and critical success and one of 2010’s top grossers. The movie saw the pairing of Ranbir and Priyanka Chopra for the first time. It took heavy inspirations from the Dutch film Blind.

2. Barfi!Barfi! features actor Ranbir as a deaf-mute Nepali boy from Darjeeling. The movie was also India's official entry for the Best Foreign Language nomination for the 85th Academy Awards. For his performance as Murphy "Barfi" Bahadur, the actor went onto win the Best Actor award at the 58th Filmfare Awards. The movie grossed ₹188.36 crores on a ₹15 crore budget.

1. SanjuSanju is a biographical depiction of the early years of Sanjay Dutt. It became the highest grossing Bollywood film of 2018. Apart from that, it is also the second highest grossing Hindi-language film in India of all time. In his illustrious Bollywood career, Sanju is Ranbir Kapoor’s biggest commercial and critical hit till date.

Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming film Brahmastra. The movie will be released sometime in 2020 and it also stars Amitabh Bachchan and Alia Bhatt in lead roles. After ‘Brahmastra’, Ranbir Kapoor will play the title character in Shamshera, a Yash Raj Films production. Shamshera will also be getting an IMAX release and will hit Indian theatres on 30th July 2020.
