Ranbir Kapoor Spills Beans On Being Intimidated Working With Aishwarya
Ranbir Kapoor has lauded Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for her acting skills and confessed how nervous he was to work with her in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' (2016).

However, a pair that pulled it off was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor.
The unconventional duo of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor
One such duo which worked wonders on the big screen is Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Ranbir Kapoor. The pair were seen together in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. The chemistry between the two seemed natural and was appreciated by the audience. Ae Dil Hai Mushkil released in 2016. The film also starred Anushka Sharma and Fawad Khan. The movie turned out to be a massive hit at the box office.

'She's such a superb actor'
In an interview to a media portal, Ranbir Kapoor revealed that when they started filming, he was intimidated by Aishwarya Rai because of her seniority in the industry. Ranbir also said that during the shooting of the first few scenes of the movie, he would shiver. Aishwarya told him to buckle up and get comfortable around her so that the scenes reflect the same. This advice helped Ranbir Kapoor in getting confident while working with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, as per his own admission.
“Aishwarya is such a superb actor and also a family friend. She's one of India's most talented and respected women. I will be forever grateful to her for her contribution to Ae Dil Hai Mushkil,” Ranbir said. Aishwarya Rai was also nominated for the ‘Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Female) for the film.
Ae Dil Hain Mushkil was not Ranbir's first interaction with Aishwarya. He was an assistant director for Aishwarya’s 1999 film Aa Ab Laut Chalen. He also revealed that he had been friends with Aishwarya since then. Ranbir revealed how he was nervous about the on-screen pairing. The actor said that he was scared that Aishwarya would say no to acting across him in the movie.
What was the movie about?
The movie traced the love story of Alizeh (Anushka Sharma) and Ayan (Ranbir Kapoor). Aishwarya played the role of a poet, Saba, who fell in love with Ayan. The poetic, mature romance between Ayan and Saba was appreciated even by critics. Aishwarya’s performance as Saba won her several accolades.

Upcoming projects
Aishwarya was then seen in another unusual pairing opposite Rajkummar Rao in Fanney Khan. The film released in 2018. Fanney Khan also starred Anil Kapoor in the lead role. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will now be seen in Jasmine: Story of A Leased Womb. On the other hand, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen in Brahmastra along with Alia Bhatt and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. Brahmastra is directed by Ayan Mukherji. It is slated to release in 2020.
