Stars Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor have evidently had both massive successes and flops at the box office. Both the stars have showcased their acting skills portraying versatile characters in their films. Ranveer Singh and Ranbir Kapoor were reportedly called as the 'future of Bollywood' by many fans back when they made their debuts. Though Ranbir's first film was a flop at the box office, his performance was praised by critics. Ranveer, on the other hand, made a splashing debut at the box office with Band Baaja Baaraat's success. Here is a comparison of Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh's performance at the box office.

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor made their debuts in the film Saawariya which released back on November 7, 2007. The film was reportedly made on a budget of ₹45 crores and earned ₹21 crores at the domestic box office. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed film earned ₹39 crores worldwide and was declared a flop. Though the film wasn't received well by the audience, Ranbir Kapoor won the Best Debut (Male) Award at Filmfare Awards in 2008.

Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh made his debut in the Hindi film industry with Band Baaja Baaraat back in 2010. Made on a reported budget on ₹15 crores, the film ended up earning more than its budget with an impressive run of ₹33 crores at the domestic box office. Ranveer's debut romantic-comedy film was also received well globally earning a total of ₹51 crores. Band Baaja Baaraat was also remade in the Tamil language. 

Highest-grossing films

Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir Kapoor's highest-grossing film to date is Sanju which released on June 29, 2018. The film was a biopic based on the life of actor Sanjay Dutt which was received positively by both domestic and global viewers. The film ended its run at the box office with a total of ₹342 crores against a budget of ₹80 crores. Sanju earned ₹541 crores at the global box office.

Ranveer Singh

Rohit Shetty directorial film Simmba released back in 2018. The cop action-drama featured Ranveer Singh in a police avatar for the first time. The film is Ranveer Singh's highest grosser film till date earning a gross of ₹299 crores INR at the box office domestically. It also earned ₹93 crores from global markets earning a total of ₹393 crores INR.
