Stree, Bhediya, Munjya, Roohi Universe Gets Bigger! Rashmika's Horror Comedy Thama Release Date Out

Rashmika Mandanna and Ayushmann Khurrana are all set to feature together in a movie. The actors will share screen space in Maddock's horror-comedy Thama. The film and release date was announced today.

Rashmika Mandanna-Ayushmann Khurrana new entrants in Maddock's horror-comedy universe

The trend of the universe does not seem to fade away anytime soon. After delivering the highest-grossing film of Bollywood ever with Stree 2, Maddock has announced another project with Rashmika Mandanna-Ayushmann Khurrana in the lead roles. Paresh Rawal and Nawazuddin Siddiqui will also feature in the movie, which joins Stree Films as well as Bhediya and Munjya in the franchise, conceptualised by Dinesh Vijan.

The movie will be directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who helmed Munjya, and released in theatres on Diwali 2025. "Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe needed a love story... unfortunately, it’s a bloody one. Brace yourselves for #Thama - Diwali 2025!" Maddock Films posted on Instagram along with an announcement video of the film. Niren Bhatt, the writer of Maddock's most recent hit Stree 2, has penned Thama along with Suresh Mathew and Arun Fulara. Amar Kaushik, the director of Stree 2, will produce the movie along with Vijan.

Another Diwali, another horror-comedy 

Diwali seems to be the top choice for filmmakers to release horror comedies. This time, the Kartik Aaryan starrer Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will hit the big screens on the festival of lights. The film is part 3 of the 2007 original film starring Akshay Kumar .

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will release alongside Singham Again on Diwali. Apart from Kartik Aaryan, the film also features Vidya Balan and Madhuri Dixit in the lead roles. Horror comedies are seemingly a success guarantor at the box office. Bhool Bhuliyaa 2 yielded good returns at business. Recently, Maddock's Munjya and Stree 2 have been declared blockbusters.
