Rishi Kapoor 'upset' with govt naming places only after politicians, asks an impt question

Rishi Kapoor in a recent interview to a leading news agency has claimed that he is quite 'upset' as the government does not treat the artist community well.

Rishi Kapoor in a recent interview to a leading news agency has claimed that he is quite 'upset' as the government does not treat the artist community well. Claiming that we are a nation known for cinema, music, and culture, he asks a very important question on how our icons are treated. "Does the government recognize our icons as much as other nations? All the new roads, flyovers, airports are so far named after politicians. Why not name these after artistes?", Kapoor asks. Dishing out the who's who of the artist community, the Mulk actor says that he's not saying this because they are his family, but because they are celebrated worldwide but just not in his country.

Rishi Kapoor gives an example 

Giving an example of the United States of America, Kapoor informs that there are several places named after Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and other artists, and due to which even the younger generation is aware of their contribution. We have achievers like astronaut Kalpana Chawla. She is an inspiration for many youngsters. How well versed are our kids about her? Politicians are only changing names with an agenda. Our artists are not honoured enough in their lifetime," said the actor,

Rishi Kapoor who recently returned to the country after prolonged treatment in New York was last seen in the film, 'Jhootha Kahin Ka' on July 19.
