Actor Riteish Deshmukh, on Thursday evening, supported Anushka Sharma over the “serving tea” comment made on her by the former cricketer Farokh Engineer.

Actor Riteish Deshmukh, on Thursday evening, supported Anushka Sharma over the “serving tea” comment made on her by the former cricketer Farokh Engineer. Riteish shared Anushka Sharma’s post slamming the repeated accusations from critics on her. Earlier, Farokh Engineer, in an interview with a media house had said that he saw the selectors serving tea to Anushka Sharma. To this Anushka Sharma replied with a long and emotional post via Twitter. However, while talking to Republic TV, Farokh apologised to her and said he meant to take a jibe on the selectors and not Anushka.

Anushka Sharma, after being silent for a very long period responded to the allegations by slamming the critics for blaming her over incidents in which she had no part in. Sharma mentioned the various incidents including the team photo which she was a part of for which she was criticized heavily. She also responded to Farokh Engineer’s comment or selectors serving tea to her. The Bollywood actor also mentioned that she thought remaining silent was the best way to respond but her silence should not be taken as 'weakness'.

Anushka Sharma breaks silence over allegations
Anushka Sharma in the long post replied to all the flak that she had received over the years which she was not a part of. She started her long letter by slamming the first of the allegations made on her by some people stating that she was the reason behind the skipper Virat Kohli’s bad performance. She was trolled heavily back then for being a bad omen to the present Indian team captain.

She said, "I have stayed quiet through all the times I was blamed for the performance of my then-boyfriend, now-husband Virat and continue to take the blame for the most baseless things involving Indian cricket." While mentioning the recent media reports of the Indian selectors serving the India captain's wife with tea at a World Cup match, she said that she attended only one match and saw the match from the Family Box and not the Selectors Box.

Anushka Sharma ended her post by saying, "I am not and will not be a pawn to be used by anyone's thoughts or beliefs or agendas and the next time you want to use my name to discredit someone or the board or even my husband, do it with facts and proof and leave me OUT of it... I am a self-made, independent woman who only happens to be wife of a cricketer"
