Bollywood films have exploited just this pleasure point lately and focused on a new genre of films - the road trip movies. Usually, in films of this genre, a group of friends will embark on a life-changing travelling experience. Some of the most iconic road-trip films are Bombay To Goa, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Dil Chahta Hai, Jab We Met among others.

Here are some of the recent road trip movies in Bollywood
1. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara
No list can not begin without the mention of Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. This 2011 Zoya Akhtar directorial, which she co-wrote with Reema Kagti, is considered to be one of the most popular and influential road trip movies in Bollywood. Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara features actors Hrithik Roshan, Farhan Akhtar and Abhay Deol, who embark on a road trip across the scenic locations of the European country of Spain. Other cast members include Katrina Kaif and Kalki Koechlin. The film showcased road to travel, deep-sea diving, the well-known Tomatina festival and sky-diving.

2. Anjaana Anjaani
Anjaana Anjaani is a 2010 romantic-comedy directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra Jonas in the lead roles. The two actors play two individuals who meet just as they are going to commit suicide. They decide to embark on a road trip from Las Vegas to New York City and fall in love along the way. While the film was not successful at the box-office, it is still popular for Vishal-Shekhar's soundtrack.

3. Highway
Imtiaz Ali is well-known for his body of work that has mostly focused on two characters who embark on a life-changing road trip, which is evident in his films Tamasha, Jab We Met and Jab Harry Met Sejal. His 2014 Alia Bhatt-starrer, Highway, was no different. The story of the film was about a bride-to-be, who is kidnapped by a local goon. Together, they embark on a journey through the scenic locales of the states of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab.
