To celebrate the success of the movie, the team gathered together to address the media on Thursday. At the event, Alia Bhatt revealed that a scene from Kudmayi’s music video is inspired by her wedding with Ranbir Kapoor.

Alia Bhatt recalls her varmala ceremony

Talking about the Kudmayi music video, Alia spoke about a scene in which Rani's family members are seen hoisting her up during the varmala ritual while Rocky waits on his knees for her to adorn him with the garland. Alia highlighted how the specific sequence brought back memories of her wedding to Ranbir Kapoor where something similar happened at their wedding ceremony in Mumbai.

The actress recalled, “There’s a moment in the song, where Ranveer bends and puts his head ahead like that and lets me put the varmala on him, that moment actually happened with me. During my wedding, they lifted Ranbir but no one had lifted me. But then he only went down on his knees and I put the varmala. So, it was quite close to reality.” A video of the same is going viral on social media. 

Alia Bhatt-Ranbir Kapoor’s relationship timeline 

Alia and Ranbir were in a relationship long before they tied the knot on April 14, last year. Though the actors kept their relationship under wraps initially, they were often spotted together by fans and the media. In April 2022, they tied the knot in Mumbai, in the presence of their family and close friends.

While the ceremony was an intimate affair, it was not devoid of celebrities. In attendance were Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Riddhima Kapoor, Soni Razdan, Shaheen Bhatt, and Ayan Mukerji. The couple welcomed their first child, their daughter, Raha Kapoor in November 2022.
