Saand Ki Aankh Movie: Taapsee Pannu praises Bhumi Pednekar

The trailer of the much-anticipated film Saand Ki Aankh was released on September 23, 2019. The film is a true story based on the world’s oldest sharpshooters Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. Saand Ki Aankh is also the directorial debut of acclaimed scriptwriter, Tushar Hiranandani. The film is all set to release on October 25, 2019.

Saand Ki Aankh marks the first time Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Padnekar will be sharing screen space. Taapsee and Bhumi will be essaying the roles of Prakashi Tomar and Chandro Tomar respectively. Prakashi and Chandro are fondly known as Revolver Dadis in real life. It is no secret that both Taapsee and Bhumi have put in plenty of efforts to get into the shoes of their characters.

Taapsee Pannu on co-star Bhumi Pednekar

Recently in an interview to a daily, Taapsee Pannu was all praises for her co-star, Bhumi Pednekar. She mentioned how the two have a very different process while shooting for a film. Taapsee called her co-star an 'intelligent' actor. She also said that Pednekar makes proper use of the surroundings and props around them.

In the interview, Taapsee Pannu also joked about how she finds herself to be 'useless' because of her studious co-star. She also informed about the preparation that the two went through to fit in their characters. The audience is all praises for the on-point make-up that the actors are seen donning for their 60-year-old characters. Reportedly, the make-up itself used to take up to three hours every day.

What did they do to transform into Chandro and Prakashi Tomar

To get into the skin of their characters, Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar spent a lot of quality times with Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar. This helped them pick up their dialect and body language. Taapsee and Bhumi bonded with the original Revolver Dadis to understand the bond that they share. A lesser-known fact about Saand Ki Aankh is that a lot of the jewellery and outfits used in the film are from Chandro and Prakashi’s wardrobe.

Produced by Reliance Entertainment and Anurag Kashyap, Saand Ki Aankh will release in Diwali this year. The film was initially titled Womaniya but due to legal controversies, it was later changed to Saand Ki Aankh. The film is majorly based in Uttar Pradesh. Saand Ki Aankh will be clashing with Housefull 4.
