Pakistani singer Farhan Saeed, who was the former member of the country's popular band 'Jal' has slammed Indian singer Salim Merchant for plagiarising his song, 'Roiyaan'. "I wonder they have the audacity to call themselves artists when they steal someone's work", Saeed accused. Responding to the Pakistani singer, Salim claimed that he has given Saeed's 2014 song a listen and that it was a 'mere coincidence', as 'many a times notes have a natural progression from each other'.

The Pakistani singer then went on to point out that the two of them had the same lyricist, to which, Salim responded saying that he should then most definitely be checking with him. "If I had to copy, I would have done that way long back in my career. I really wish I had heard your song before I made mine", he said
