Salman Khan has been peppered with the ‘When will you get married’ question for over two decades now. While the actor might have conceded the tag of India’s or Bollywood’s ‘most eligible bachelor’ to other names over the years, and his love life with several B-Town beauties made headlines, the query never quite eluded him. However, it is not true that marriage never came across his mind. In fact, the 53-year-old was all set to get married almost two decades ago. The reason why he didn’t go ahead was a very simple one, he just ‘didn’t have the mood.’
This interesting trivia of Salman Khan’s life was shared his Kick director and producer of several hits, Sajid Nadiadwala. The filmmaker shared on The Kapil Sharma Show, “Salman had gotten an attack in 1999 of getting married. He already had a girl, I had to find one for myself. Salman’s father’s birthday is on November 18, so we had decided to tie the knot on the same date. Everything was set, even cards were sent out. Just six or five days before the due date, he said ‘I don’t have the mood’. After changing his mind, he came on stage during my marriage and whispered in my ears. ‘There is a car outside, take it and run away.’” Sajid Nadiadwala obviously didn’t take Salman’s advice as he got married to Warda Nadiadwala that day, and the couple has two sons today.
Despite his lack of interest for marriage, Salman Khan had often said that he wants to have children, but because the mother comes along with the child, so he was not keen to go ahead. A few months ago, there were reports that the Dabangg star had become a father via a surrogate. However, it turned out to be a false news.
Salman-Sajid's partnership
Meanwhile, Salman and Sajid Nadiadwala’s partnership had begun with Jeet, and the latter’s next four films as a producer all featured Salman, Judwaa, Har Dil Jo Pyar Karega, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Jaan-E-Mann. After this the duo reunited on Kick, which is Sajid Nadiadwala’s only directorial. The movie is being tipped for a sequel by next year. At the moment, both are gearing up for releases, Sajid with Housefull 4 this Diwali and Salman with Dabangg 3, that hits the theatres on December 20.
