After Supreme Court gave its d to CBI to take over investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput's death, Shiv Sena through its editorial in Saamana defended Mumbai Police saying that y should 't feel bad' over verdict since y had been investigating honestly.

"Mumbai police shouldn't feel bad, it was investigating honestly but when politics is inserted in an issue what else is expected?" said Raut in Saamana. "If by handing over Sushant Singh Rajput case to CBI, y feel 'justice will be done' in this case, n it is welcome. CBI will find out truth of this case and Mumbai Police should cooperate with CBI," said Sanjay Raut.

"Politics around discrediting Mumbai police"

Shiv Sena also mentioned that SC in ir observation had stated that Mumbai Police still had right to investigate. "Those who celebrate victory on recognition of CBI Investigation should take a look at instructions of SC. Mumbai Police Investigation was moving in right direction as per law, investigation was in its final st when it was handed over to CBI on recommendation of Bihar," said Sanjay Raut.

"Sushant's case must be investigated impartially. If re is any doubt in minds of ir relatives, n it must come to light. re is question of disrespecting decision of Supreme Court. But question is reputation of Mumbai Police and political mudslinging on it. Attempts to discredit rule of law must be stopped. Sushant got justice. Justice must be done. But when Mumbai Police is on path of truth and justice, it is t right to stop it," said Raut. It is important to te here that Maharashtra government has similarly been accused of putting 'political pressure' on Mumbai police probe, though while claims against Mumbai police and suspicions over its lapses are well documented, in Raut's corner are only his words.

Raut also took a veiled dig at BJP asking those who 'don a khaki and hold a political party's flag' to t question Maharashtra. "Maharashtra is number one state in respect of court and law. So what is justice and law, one should teach this to Maharashtra and whoever has khaki uniform on his body and flag of a political party in his hands, should t dare to do so at all," said Raut.

SC's verdict

top court in its verdict on August 19 t only gave d to a CBI probe in case but also recognized jurisdiction of Bihar Police saying that it is competent to give consent for a CBI investigation. It is to be ted that Bihar government has already given its d to CBI probe and central ncy has begun its work. However, opposition by Maharashtra government and Rhea Chakraborty in top court was a hindrance to CBI, which has w been removed.  Supreme Court has also directed Maharashtra government to cooperate with CBI during investigation.  orders were dictated by Justice Hrishikesh Roy.
