Saqib spoke to a popular entertainment portal about how events played out. He said that when film was anunced it was also told that Ranveer Singh will be playing role of Kapil Dev. actor was left wondering as to who will be playing role of Jimmy or Mohinder Amarnath. actor n spoke to ncy and y informed him that y were indeed looking for an actor, to which Saleem suggested that he would love to play part.

actor recalled a scene when makers decided to shoot at Lord's stadium. place was never used to shoot any film previously, hence actor was filled with pride shooting in that location. It was during this time director Kabir Khan told team that y were shooting with actual trophy that India won in 1983. He n recollected to actually seeing trophy being guarded by security guards, and as cast glanced onto prestigious trophy y couldn’t help but tear up. actor called it a spectacle and that it was this trophy that changed way people look at India.

makers held try-outs in which actor performed exceptionally well. called experience surreal and was happy to play such a pivotal role. He said that playing role of former Vice Captain brought back several memories. actor said his dream came true as he once wished to become a cricketer and play for country.
