Following Supreme Court's verdict giving a go-ahe for a CBI probe in Sushant Singh Rajput death case, late actor's niece Mallika Singh, friend Kushal Zaveri, and Bollywood actor Sonu Sood took to Twitter to welcome decision. While Mallika wrote a heartwarming te and said, 'Rest peacefully, Gulshan Mama'; close friend Kushal Zaveri said, "A step closer to that starry night".

SC's verdict

top court in its verdict on August 19 t only gave d to a CBI probe in case but also recognized jurisdiction of Bihar Police saying that it is competent to give consent for a CBI investigation. It is to be ted that Bihar government has alrey given its d to CBI probe and central ncy has begun its work. However, opposition by Maharashtra government and Rhea Chakraborty in top court was a hindrance to CBI, which has w been removed. Supreme Court has also directed Maharashtra government to cooperate with CBI during investigation. orders were dictated by Justice Hrishikesh Roy.

While stressing that records of case produced before court do t suggest any wrongdoing by Mumbai Police, bench observed that obstruction of Bihar Police team could have been avoided. According to apex court, this gave rise to suspicion on independence of ir inquiry. It also pointed out that Mumbai Police is conducting only a limited inquiry into cause of unnatural death. In  verdict, bench has directed  CBI to probe any or case registered on Dil Bechara actor’s death and surrounding circumstances.
