Sector 36 X Review: Netizens Deem Vikrant Massey, Deepak Dobriyal's Thriller 'Painful, Eye-Opening'

Sector 36 X Review: Vikrant Massey headlines the crime thriller which is based on true events. The film also features Deepak Dobriyal and premiered on Netflix on September 13. The movie marks the directorial debut of Aditya Nimbalkar and features Massery as a serial killer who targets children. Social media users who watched the movie have taken to their account accounts to share the first reviews of the thriller.

Sector 36 follows Inspector Ram Charan Pandey (Deepak Dobriyal), father to a young daughter and doting husband, who chases after a serial killer despite warnings to desist. Vikrant plays the antagonist, a serial killer, who targets children. As soon as the film debuted on Netflix, netizens shared their first reaction to the same hailing Massey's performance. 

A user took to their  X (formerly Twitter) account to write, “#Sector36 Review: A tough watch where Vikrant Massey and Deepak Dobriyal excel”. Another wrote, “Vikrant Massey never fails to amaze us, be it 12th Fail, Haseen Dilruba or now Sector 36. You will hate him in this film, he is that good. Vikrant, how do you do it?” Another hailed the performance of the lead stars and deemed that the film is a ‘must watch’. The comment read, “What a quality content must watch. and for both #VikrantMassey and #DeepakDobriyal performance.”

A user heaped praises on Massey's performance in the thriller and wrote, “Vikrant Massey in Sector 36 is literally the most braved and nuanced performance. Jitna 12th fail me pyaar ho gaya utni hi Sector 36 dekh ke nafrat. Bemisaal acting." Most users shared that the film was ‘disturbing and gore’ to watch and painful as it featured events that took place in real life.  A user wrote, “#Sector36 is such a disturbing film. It churns your stomach and evokes a feeling of sickness in humanity. It’s a slow-burning & dark film, not for the faint of heart. Well-crafted though, nonetheless."

Sector 36 will remain important at any point of time: Vikrant Massey 

Actor Vikrant Massey believes his latest Sector 36 is a film that will always remain important to people due to the persistent and pervasive nature of crimes against women and children. “This film is not just important right now. Unfortunately, it will be important at any point in time. I say this with a very heavy heart because of the world that we live in. If I can very briefly tell you about crimes against women and children, these are very pertinent issues that we are dealing with day in and day out,” Massey told PTI in an interview.

The actor said he is not looking for praise for his performance as he wants viewers to focus on the issue the film is trying to highlight. “I hope people love the film at large. I definitely do not want to outshine the larger idea. I’m just a small part of this larger puzzle which is the story. And I hope that people resonate with the story much more than my character. If they end up doing that, I will consider that as my victory.  “This particular part is not the one wherein I want people to empathise with me or get inspired by me. I definitely want people to enjoy my character and like my work,” he said. Sector 36 is produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films.
