Shahid Kapoor's shooting for 'Jersey' halted in Chandigarh due to ongoing farmer's protest

Actor Shahid Kapoor and makers of his next sports drama Jersey had carefully charted out the final schedule before heading out to Chandigarh on November 20.

Actor Shahid Kapoor and makers of his upcoming sports drama Jersey had carefully charted out final schedule before heading out to Chandigarh on vember 20. team was to film a major portion of film in Chandigarh before making its way to Kasauli and Dehradun.

However, with farmers' protests at its peak in Punjab and Haryana, director Gowtam Tinnanuri and makers have had to put off Chandigarh schedule which has created a major problem for entire unit. A source close to film told Mid-Day that days into shoot in Chandigarh, makers felt that it would be difficult to pull off remaining shoot amid current scenario.

In order to save ir time, source revealed that entire team quickly changed ir plan and headed to Dehradun last week. Shahid, Mrunal Thakur, and cast will film certain portions in Uttarakhand capital over next few days and will return to Chandigarh for last leg of shoot once things get cool and calm in city. 

At last, source claimed that film’s unit has shot major portions in Uttrakhand and is left with just three days' work in city. drama, an official adaptation of 2019 Telugu hit of same name, will see Kapoor play a retired cricketer who strives to make a comeback.

Earlier, actor felt stalgic after he visited Mohali stadium to shoot for last portions of film. Kabir Singh actor shared a picture of entire empty stadium on his Instagram story and expressed his excitement to be back on pitch after approximately one year.

In story, Shahid showed cricket ground of Mohali stadium in Chandigarh and wrote, “Back after a year. Mohali cricket stadium….Feels amazing.” Though film has officially wrapped up shooting schedule of film, yet going by picture it seems that actor is back to shoot some leftover scenes for film which eventually was left in between in February due to unprecedented coronavirus lockdown.
