The actor has carved a niche for himself in Bollywood with his impressive acts in films like Dhol, Life In A Metro and Ferrari Ki Sawaari. Sharman is known to deliver some realistic performances in content-driven films which have been well-received by critics and viewers in the past. Sharman had earlier revealed in an interview that he believes in doing the films he is offered with utmost honesty and dedication. Some of Sharman Joshi's films have also gone on to become blockbusters.

3 Idiots

This film is still considered to be a cult movie in the film fraternity. It starred Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi, R Madhavan and Kareena Kapoor Khan in pivotal roles. The film revolved around the education system in the country. Sharman Joshi's performance as Raju Rastogi was much appreciated by critics and fans alike. The film turned out be a blockbuster at the box office and reportedly garnered around ₹460 crore at the box office.

Rang De Basanti

The film starred Sharman Joshi in an ensemble cast consisting of Aamir Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Kunal Kapoor, R Madhavan and Siddharth. The film's direction by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra was lauded by the critics. The powerful subject of the film also helped the film strike gold at the box office. It reportedly amassed ₹970 million at the box office. Sharman Joshi gave an intense performance as he essayed the role of freedom fighter Shivaram Rajguru as well as a Delhi youth, Sukhi, in the film. 

Mission Mangal 

Sharman Joshi recently appeared in the film Mission Mangal. The film also starred Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles. The film was a tribute to the dedication of the scientists of the nation. The film proved to be a huge hit at the box office and managed to earn reportedly ₹290 crore at the box office.
