Sharmila Tagore to Sara Ali Khan: Actors from the Pataudi family

The famous Pataudi family of India consists of a dynasty of Nawabs belonging to the princely state of Pataudi. The Pataudis kept their titles until the Government of India abolished all titles in 1971. The current head of the family is actor Saif Ali Khan. Here is a look at some of the gems that the Pataudi family has given Bollywood.

1.  Sharmila Tagore

Sharmila Tagore is distantly related to Nobel Prize-winner Rabindranath Tagore. She was known as Ayesha Sultana Khan after her conversion to Islam, when she married cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan. She started her career in 1959 with Satyajit Ray’s Apur Sansar. Sharmila Tagore is also the recipient of two National Awards, a Padma Bhushan and two Filmfare Awards too.

2. Saif Ali Khan

Saif Ali Khan made his debut in 1993 with Yash Chopra’s Parampara. But he caught the attention of the public eye with his roles in Yeh Dillagi and Main Khiladi Tu Anari. He is currently awaiting the release of Laal Kaptaan and is also riding high on the success of his hit web series, Sacred Games.

3. Kareena Kapoor

The actor needs no introduction. Kareena Kapoor became a member of the Pataudi family following her marriage to Saif Ali Khan in 2012. After making her debut in Refugee, Kareena gained wide recognition for her roles in films like Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Ghum…, Asoka and Chameli. She was last seen in Shashanka Ghosh's Veere Di Wedding. She currently has Raj Mehta’s Good Newwz, Angrezi Medium, and Takht in her kitty.

4. Soha Ali Khan

Soha Ali Khan is the sister of Saif Ali Khan and is now married to actor Kunal Khemmu. Soha Ali Khan made her debut in Bollywood with Anant Mahadevan’s Dil Maange More. She gained popularity for her role in National Award-winning film, Rang De Basanti.

5. Sara Ali Khan

Sara Ali Khan is the latest member of the Pataudi family to join the film industry. She is the daughter of Saif Ali Khan and his ex-wife, Amrita Singh. Sara made her debut in 2018 with the films Kedarnath and Simmba. She is currently gearing up for Imtiaz Ali’s untitled next and Coolie No.1.
