In an interview with a daily, Shruti stated her comment about quitting alcohol for two years now, and being completely sober since then was ‘blown out of proportion.’ The Behen Hogi Teri star also said that she doesn’t judge those who drink because according to her, it is a part of the culture in today’s times, without any stigma attached. The 33-year-old clarified that she was keen on leading a sober life. Shruti Haasan also wondered why people still don’t admit that they drink, something she said was ‘ridiculous’. in this age.The actor also asked why her comment about wanting to lead a sober life was ‘turned into something else.’

Shruti Haasan had recently appeared on the digital web show Feet Up with The Stars, hosted by Lakshmi Manchu, where she spoke about her personal life, right from her break-up with Michael Corsale to issues with alcohol. She had stated that she was a ‘big-time whiskey lover’, but then she faced a medical condition due to her alcohol addiction. Shruti Haasan also revealed that she didn’t share her issues with anyone, and tried to heal herself by welcoming a new change. On her break-up, she said that she had no regrets over it, since it was a good experience overall.

Professional front
On the professional front, Shruti Haasan’s last Bollywood film was Behen Hogi Teri opposite Rajkummar Rao. The movie had released in 2017. The actor will next be seen in the Tamil film Laabam opposite Vijay Sethupathi. She has already begun her shooting for the movie.
