Simi Garewal comes to Priyanka Chopra’s defense in response to a troll

Priyanka Chopra is popular for her work as an actor. The actress has, however, enjoyed a small stint as a singer as well, and delivered a chart-topper with In My City. The actress once gave a vocal performance during her appearance at host Simi Garewal’s show. In a throwback video reposted on social media, Simi showed how she once schooled a troll who tried to make fun of Priyanka after her performance.

Simi Garewal comes to Priyanka Chopra’s defence

In the video shared by Simi Garewal, Priyanka begins by saying, “This is for my daddy.” In praise of the actress’ voice, Simi wrote, “India’s most desirable! Priyanka Chopra Jonas. Her dad’s dream for her was that she should become an international singer. She exceeded it by becoming a super global star.” 

While other users praised Priyanka, one social media user wrote, “So much drama in singing, probably to cover the flaws. You’d notice that actual trained singers don’t have this much drama.” Simi wrote in retaliation, “Drama?? Where was the drama? Do elaborate…(if you can!)” and paired it with a rolling eyes emoji. 

Simi’s praise for Priyanka

Simi also gave a message of positivity after the exchange. She wrote, “Never ‘forget fighting’ for your honour. You had the courage to defend your values – and yourself. I wish you continued strength to live your life on your terms. I wish you peace of mind, I wish you daily joys. You are a true hero. Believe it! (smiling face with halo emoji).” The clip originates from 2012. In 2013, however, Priyanka had lost her father. This was a tough time in the actress’ life, which is something she has opened up about as she was close with her father.
